She, After is an amusing and thought-provoking take on the imagined lives of two famous literary women - after their moments of notoriety. Part One, Nora, In the Great Outdoors, deals with the repercussions of Nora's final door slam in Ibsen's A Doll's House. We see her confront her past and very uncertain future in a moving 25-minute soliloquy with a libretto by playwright Will Eno. Part Two is Alice in the Time of the Jabberwock. Alice has never been able to escape Wonderland, and is now going through menopause while becoming increasingly disenchanted with her crazy companions. Librettist Robert Coover is a prolific author; this short opera is based on one of his stories. The music, by Daniel Felsenfeld, is both witty and dramatic. International opera star Emily Pulley will bring both women to life.
